About Nanotoxico

Nanosciences and nanotechnologies are highly promising areas for research and industrial innovation. By the principle of precautiousness in front of this technological jump, the risk assessment of engineered nanomaterials has become the focus of increasing attention.

The goal of the Nanotoxico project is to develop in vitro and in vivo tests for nanoparticles toxicity assement. This project involves several discipines including  physic, chemistry, biology, pharmacy and science communication.

SAFETY OF MANUFACTURED NANOMATERIALS: FROM DESIGN TO SAFE PRODUCTION

Uncertainties around human health and safety aspects of nanomaterials (NM) still represent a barrier to their rapid implementation and commercialisation in a safe and responsible manner.

That's why numbers of researchers work on sustainable solutions that will ensure a safety use of nanotechnologies and a safe development of nano-oriented innovations.

The University of Namur proposes:

Presentation of European and Walloon platforms and solutions

for nanomaterials.
